Sunset on the Thermalito Afterbay-This area is just a few minutes west of Oroville in Butte County. It is open to the public from sunrise to sunset, year around. The bass fishing is really good at certain times of year. Many people like to go out with jet skiis and boats too. There is also a bird nesting area where many ducks raise their ducklings each year.

The weather is perfect for camping at this time of year. These photos are from a family camping trip one of our agents took to Siskiyou County a couple of weeks ago. It's about a 3 1/2 hour trip from Paradise. Lots of wildlife, lots of room for horseback riding and lots of peace & quiet!

While today is a pretty day in Paradise it doesn't look like this. We're still feeling the heat of summer and this photo was taken on a cool rainy spring afternoon. A little bit of rain would feel great after the long dry months of summer. All of us at United Country are looking forward to some cool crisp fall weather and all the gorgeous fall colors. A few leaves here and there are starting to turn.
